The Student Services staff supports instructional programs throughout the District through delivery of specialized services in the areas of child welfare and attendance, the custody of pupil records, assuring due process in matters of student discipline, the delivery of pupil health services, after school support through Club King, assistance for homeless students, and programs to develop social-emotional resilience.
PARENT / STUDENT RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
At the beginning of each school year, the Cypress School District is required by the California Education Code Section 58980 to notify parents/guardians of their rights and responsibilities. The 2016-2017 Parent/Student Handbook includes the Annual Notification - Parent/Student Rights & Responsibilities.
FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION (EC 49010-49013) and STUDENT FEES (EC 35330)
California law requires that public education be provided to all students free of charge, unless a charge is specifically authorized by law for a particular program or activity. Therefore, the Cypress School District may not charge fees for school programs and extracurricular activities, except for those programs or activities where a fee is specifically authorized by law.
Voluntary donations of any supplies are greatly appreciated. Please know that students will fully participate in all school programs and services regardless of the family's desire or ability to make a voluntary donation.
